Are you looking for a reliable supplier of rock armour to ensure the stability and protection of your marine project? AB Group offers comprehensive construction solutions featuring natural rock sourced from the Beni Hassan quarries. These stones are specifically engineered to withstand extreme hydraulic conditions in ports, breakwaters, and coastal protection projects, effectively preventing erosion.
We provide clients in Egypt and North Africa with armour stones graded according to international standards (CIRIA/CUR and EN 13383), ensuring the availability of the critical weight classes required for large-scale projects.
Exceptional Density: Ranging from 2.65 to 2.75 g/cm³, providing superior resistance against the hydrodynamic forces of powerful waves.
High Compressive Strength: Reaching 130–160 MPa, ensuring the stones do not fracture under repeated impact.
Low Water Absorption: Less than 0.5%, which extends the lifespan of the stone and minimizes the effects of marine erosion.
Abrasion Resistance (Los Angeles Test): A low value (LA 18–22) indicates high durability against wear and fragmentation.
Available Weight Classes (to suit various breakwater layers):
We provide complete solutions for the different layers of a breakwater:
Class IV (1–3 tons): Ideal for the core layer. Category V (3–6 tons): The ideal choice for the primary armour layer.
Category VI (6–10 tons): Available upon request for high-energy zones and port facilities.
Each stone is manually and visually inspected and sorted to ensure it is free of cracks. They are marked with a color-coded identifier for each category (e.g., BW-V) to facilitate easy identification on-site. We also provide international inspection certificates (SGS / Bureau Veritas) for projects that require them—a service particularly relevant for oil and gas export markets in Africa.
